SINGAPORE

If there exists one place with a special place in my heart then it is Singapore. I was lucky enough to live there in the early 1990s and have loved the place ever since. Despite its only drawback, the stifling heat and humidity, Singapore remains the best place in the world to work and have fun.

The local insurance industry has for years assimilated an expatriate community working alongside and in harmony with talented local employees. With my managers in the region, we recruited and developed truly great teams, drawn from different cultures and nationalities. To this day the business continues to be a fantastic success due to the outstanding quality of those that  drive it.

My fondest memory is not of the work unsurprisingly but of the after hours interaction with my colleagues. The evenings at seafood restaurants tucking into a pepper crab whilst sipping on an ice-cold tiger beer. Now that is very hard to beat anywhere else.
